Last time I took part in the plant shelfie challenge for Urban Jungle Bloggers, I created a little indoor garden scene on a shelf in my home office.
This time around I thought it might be interesting to create a few different vignettes and experiment with different shapes and textures. Especially as I just picked up a collection of new plants yesterday for a photo-shoot for the launch of our new shelf.
My new plants include a fern and some succulents in a variety of different shapes.
Using a Pacco Floating Drawer as the base for my series of plant shelfies, I played around with different combinations of plants and objects. What’s really interesting, is how you can create such different looks with plants, depending on how you arrange them.
I explored some very contrasting looks. Sometimes, more minimalist.
Sometimes, quite rustic in style.
In the end, I discovered sometimes just a simple arrangement of vibrant greenery looks best of all.
When my youngest came home from school today he said to me: “There are so many plants all over the place, it looks like a jungle!” Well, since I was preparing for an Urban Jungle Bloggers post – I guess that’s exactly how it should be!
Urban Jungle Bloggers is a monthly series initiated by Igor of Happy Interior Blog and Judith of JOELIX.com. And if you’d like to see even more art and plants inspiration visit the Urban Jungle Bloggers website.
Hahaha that’s exactly how it should be when you prepare an UJB post: that it looks like a jungle 😀 What a stylish new Mocha shelf, Sarah! Thank you for showing it in today’s post! When I saw you were preparing a post, I immediately thought of your hanging (plant)shelfies! That was really nice too 🙂 Have a great weekend! xx
Thanks for your kind comments, Judith 🙂 Yes, we had fun doing the hanging plant one!
(That is one of our shelves, but not the latest one – you can see the new one here: http://www.mochacasa.com/shop/marco-frame-shelf/)
I also remember your hanging plant one:-))
