I knew straight away which piece of art I was going to use for theme of this month’s Urban Jungle Bloggers which is Plants and Art.

There’s a very special picture that hangs above the sofa in our lounge. It’s an image of a white Spanish style villa, adorned with greenery and and flowering plants.

Decorating With Mediterranean Blue

Blue is a colour synonymous with the Mediterranean.

From deep cobalt, to sky blue, aqua and turquoise. It echoes the azure blue sky and sparkling waters of the sea.

It speaks of warm sunny days with the sun on your back. And it brings a feeling of calm and serenity.

Urban Jungle Bloggers: Spring Styling

Mediterranean Vignette from Mocha

I am really happy to be joining the Urban Jungle Bloggers this month.

If you haven’t come across it before, Urban Jungle Bloggers is a monthly series initiated by two bloggers: Igor of Happy Interior Blog and Judith of JOELIX.com. Every month a group of bloggers join up and share ideas to create an urban jungle through styling ideas, DIYs, green tips and tricks. And each time there is a different theme. It’s a great way to get inspiration for adding more biophilia into your home.

This month’s topic is green Spring styling. And the challenge was to create a fresh Spring vignette or tabletop styling with green plants.

One of the first things that came to mind was to give it a Mediterranean theme. Because it seems so synonymous with spring. Warm sunny days, simple living, fresh ingredients, natural materials – and of course, herbs and plants.

Villa F: A Greek Island Holiday Home With A Difference

If I asked you to imagine a Greek Island holiday home, how would you describe it to me?

You might mention typical Mediterranean whitewashed walls and a spacious and airy interior. Perhaps simple but comfortable furnishings  (ideal for relaxing and getting away from it all!) And no doubt, a view of the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea.

This holiday villa on the Greek Island of Rhodes has all of this. But I bet it isn’t quite what you were imagining …

Villa F is a futuristic looking home. It was designed by architects Hornung and Jacobi Architecture for a couple who wanted a holiday home that also included a separate area for guests.

Interiors That Offer A Vision Of Calm: San Giorgio Hotel

San Giorgio Hotel Interiors - Mocha UK Blog

San Giorgio Hotel is not like a typical hotel. In fact, the interior doesn’t look much like a hotel at all. It’s more like staying in the holiday home of a cool friend. Or the kind of hideaway you wish you had as your own personal bolt-hole whenever you felt the need to escape away for a few days.

Add Mediterranean Style To Your Front Door

Imagine coming home to a front door like this?  Doesn’t it look warm and inviting? Whatever the weather you can’t help but feel uplifted.

As the days begin to get cooler and memories of summer holidays fade away, why not give your front door a Mediterranean style update for a warm welcome home – even on a grey and miserable day.

Turquoise has long been a popular colour in Mediterranean homes. Traditionally, it was believed to ward off bad luck, and now this vibrant colour is making a big comeback in modern interiors.
