Is Your Home Making You Feel Negative? (And What To Do About It)

delete the negative, accentuate the positive

Do you have objects around your home that you dislike?

Perhaps you keep them around because you feel you have to. Or maybe out of a sense of guilt because they were gifts?

How do they make you feel each time you look at them? Do they bring back bad memories or make you feel negative?

When used as positive anchors,  home accessories really can make you feel happier. But conversely, if they have negative associations, the opposite is also true.

Your home should be a place than nurtures you. A sanctuary that makes you feel safe and happy. A base where you can get energised and inspired, to take you forward on exciting new journeys in your life.

Home accessories that act as negative anchors or that are associated with bad memories will only hold you back. Little by little, they’ll weigh you down and sap you of energy. Sometimes you may not even be consciously aware that they are doing so.

So take them out of your home and don’t feel bad about doing so.

But if you feel you can’t get rid of them completely – just store them in a “guilty box” somewhere out of sight.

Instead, surround yourself with home accessories and decor that you love. Objects that make you smile. Motivational messages and good memories.

And make your home into your happy haven.

  1. I watch tons of HGTV and DIY shows about interior design and I can never seem to duplicate what ends up being a cohesive collection of accessories, items I would never consider matching not only work together, they elevate the room and brings everything together. How do you do it? How do you bring it all together? I don’t know if I’ll ever figure it out.

  2. Fortunately, my home is full of positive vibes.
