Dreamy Outdoor Fireplaces

Mediterranean style outdoor fireplace

With spring just around the corner, our thoughts naturally turn to the idea of the warm sunny days ahead.

In the winter we try to bring a taste of the outside in with plants, greenery and other touches of nature. Whereas in the summer, when we spend more time outdoors, we do the opposite. We bring some of the inside out.

What I really like is the Mediterranean style of turning outdoor spaces into an extension of the home. More than merely taking a couple of chairs out, the garden or terrace becomes an outdoor living room.  And the space is carefully considered with furniture, accessories and potted plants. Much like the interior of your home.

And for when the evenings get chilly, how about an outdoor fireplace?

Just picture the scene … sitting outside on an early spring evening, enjoying the company of a group of good friends. Wrapped in cosy throws, gathered round a warming fire to stave off the chilly air.

I don’t have a garden right now, but if I did, I’d love to create an outdoor living room with a fireplace.

A bonus would be if my dream home also had a pool and a view of the sea!

How about you – would you like an outdoor fireplace? And which of these styles are your favourite?

  1. I really like the fireplace in the third picture the most. Mix that fireplace and place setting with the pool and floating path from the second picture, and it would be even better. These paths always look really cool, but I haven’t seen them outside of pictures, so I don’t know how they work.
